Yeah, that's true. I didn't even have an explanation for my failure to say anything to that girl that posed for me on Saturday night ([LInk]). I keep telling myself that she was some foreign chick that probably couldn't even speak English. It makes me feel better.

I'll go back to bashing myself until I see you on Friday.

Bye bye movie star.

You're coming with us next year. ;) Better start watching the sport now. You might enjoy taking shots like these: http://calzinger.net …BrowseCategory.php&cat=46 (external link). Forget the cars! :D

Yeah and the way I see it, she's lucky she' s hot. goodness knows how much that has helped her in life. And the guy is lucky to be with her. He's probably as much of a dunce as she is. The least she and her friend can do is let people take pictures of her in various states of undress.

Im pretty disgusted by the thread starters attitude. I wouldnt have a problem with this if he was using his say, 24-70L where he was closer to the couple, but he used a long telephoto to "sneak a peek."

You can take pictures of people if they are in PUBLIC and keep them for your own viewing, but hasnt another line been crossed when the pictures were posted in this thread for the rest of the world to see? Also, was she in public? Or was she on private property, in a private area (guests only), with half of her clothes on? I think she has a right to privacy in that situation, and im glad Mr MDJAK did the sensible thing and stopped snapping pics in that situation.

Im all for checking out pics of hot chicks, but Mr MDJAK's, "Im a photographer, I can take pictures of anyone I want without getting my ass kicked" attitude is pretty disgusting.

Hmm, just asking cause last summer in sydney there were cases of people taking photo's of girls on some of our beachs, not only did they object but their male companions objected too, violently, then the photographer was arrested.
Well, beaten, chased up the beach, then arrested!!

hmmm the incident you're referring to was about a guy who was using a phone camera to take shots of topless girls on the beach, so I think maybe he got what he deserved. The shots on this thread are voyuer shots that's all, no better and no worse than papparazzi would take.....probably better quality as they're nice and sharp. I don't have a moral stance on this type of photography, just not into it myself.

I believe it was taken at a pool in a hotel.

As one who takes similar kinds of street pictures in NYC, I know what kind of attitude you need to get the shots, the attitude you find ridiculous. Whether you're using a 70-200 or a 24-70, you always run the risk of being spotted. You'd think a telephoto would make it easier to "take a picture of anyone you want without getting your ass kicked", but after doing it so many times in the city, the plain answer is no. Telephoto or walkaround, you're always within reasonable distance to be spotted, trust me. It's not like we're spies here. Most of the time we are seen after taking the shot, and we're always as enthusiastic and as kind as we're supposed to be.

So if you want your shot, you need to ignore your subject's privacy for that moment of exposure, but you need to be ready to completely respect it immediately after taking the shot.

I'm sure Mr. MDJAK will tell you what he thinks, but I'm just telling you where I'm coming from as I have the same attitude when I take similar street shots in New York City.

aye this is another lost battle in the sensitivity wars. Fairies and flower children always seem to prevail over logic.

I'm sorry I disgusted you. It wasn't my intention. I'm a friendly guy and like to maintain friendly relations in person and online. A few facts:

Firstly, The Hard Rock Pool, believe it or not, is not "Guests Only." Because they offer "Swim Up Blackjack" it is open to the public. Only on weekends do they even make non-hotel guests pay to get in.

Secondly, I was using the 70-300. How far away do you think I was? Fact is, I was probably no more than 25-30 feet from them. I was not hiding in a bush either; I was sitting on a lounge chair right in the open. And as you mentioned, I did adhere to his request to stop, even though I had already stopped.

I'll leave my above comments to stand with regard to showing people the pictures I take of them and then often becoming friendly with them and emailing them the pics.
