I guess I can say these images weren't intended to show a scenic view but rather a little foreground with clouds as the background. Something a little different I thought I'd try. What do you think.

Thanks for looking, C&C welcomed.

I like the contrast and colours of the 1st one Frank but i don`t like the lack of midground,it seems very compact which is something that the 2nd one has and it looks pretty good too.

Goodness me it is cloudy frank, looks like it's going to pour down with rain soon.
The contrast between the land and sky is very good, well done.

I like both of them. Looks like great hiking territory (until it rains).

I agree with Dimitri about the lack of a "midground" and compact feeling in the first one. Therefore, #2 does it for me. Very nice contrast.

Very nice shots Frank. I like them both but the second one is really nice.
Beautiful colors in these.

Interesting shots!

Rich in colours, dramatic and beautifully composed with both foreground and background interest!

Congrats!

I like the second one, the first one IMHO is too light in the foreground and dark in the background...

I think I would have tried it without anything in the foreground. It's just a distraction that gets in the way of the main subject, which is the clouds. With #2 you've got a lovely horizon line of the mountains, so I'd try cropping it so that 20% of the photo is mountain, 20% is sky below the clouds, and 60% is clouds. Your profile doesn't say 'Image editing OK' so I haven't tried a quick workup, but I'd be happy to if it's OK with you...

Yes Stewart feel free to edit my images if you wish. I like to see what others can do with it.

Thanks all so very much for the constructive comments and the kind words.

Andrea I understand what you said about the foreground being to bright but the sun was still shining behind me as you can see in the shot below. All i did was take the camera off the tripod, turn around and used the Blueberry patch as a foreground. The weather was very odd that day.

OK Frank, here's a couple of quick crops of #2. Neither is quite what I'd have been after: I think I'd have wanted the style of the first crop (i.e. nothing in the foreground) but the shape of the second crop (more panoramic). I can't be bothered (and more to the point I don't think I have the skills!) to try to clone out the rock and replace it with more hills, but if I did then that would achieve the sort of effect I'd be looking for in the secne. Hope you find it interesting!
