I just bought the PSC-2000 and it is fine just to protect the camera, however, I also have the 420ex flash - can any of you recommed a high quality bag that will hold both and some extra stuff as well? I know that it is best to try out bags to find one that best suits me, but I want to know what some of you may have and like, as it may help me at least initially. Your inputs are appreciated...

Thanks,
Reid

I'm using a Lowepro S&F (Street and Field) Utility Case (actual name, no product number I could find). The 420EX lies flat in the bottom. I lock it in with the supplied velco partition turned on its side and put the camera in (back down with a Lensmate attached) on top. There's still some room at one end of the camera for something that's about 2x3x3 inches.

There's an outer pocket for spare batteries for both items, plus other odd bits like remote controller, pens and paper, mints and keys and what-have-you.

If you find the bag on the Lowepro site, don't worry about the specifications. It says it's about 1.5 inches thick. When mine is packed its more like five or six inches.

I paid less than US$30 for it, but I'm in Hong Kong so I don't know what it is in the States. Less, I would imagine. I added a Domke no-slip strap to complete the unit. It's small and light and comfortable and I take it with me almost everywhere.

I just bought a LowePro at BestBuy and it is perfect. I am not sure of the exact bag type, but it is medium-sized - and holds my flash and camera (with Lensmate adaptor on) perfectly. It also has enough room left over for a lot more, like an extra battery, battery charger, compact falsh, etc. Of all the bags I have seen at Rit camera and BestBuy, it was by far the best. So far I am VERY happy with the bag and suggest it to anyone.

As for the camera case - don't need one. I just use the strap that came with the camera (it's excellent for exactly that purpose) and the Lensmate adaptor. Works for me.

If you plan to get a lens adapter tube, get a case that will fit the camera with mount. Check my post 12 postings back.

Did you read my previous post? I do have a Lensmate adaptor...after seeing your past post it looks like it is the same case that you have.

I use the Samsonite Trekking 120 - it may not have the street cred of the Lowepro, but does the business.

Holds G2 with Canon Lens Adapter, 420EX ,
all the cables etc..

Cheers
