I had a new copy of this lens a few weeks ago....was soft at the corners so I returned it. Based on the comments here and the pics posted, I am going to take another chance and order again. If it has any issues, I'll just send it to Tamron to have it calibrated. Just seems like too good a lens for the price. The pics in this thread are incredible.

I do have a question. I am sure that this lens (like all other wider zoom lenses) will have barrel and pincusion distortion. I have Photoshop CS and DPP. Can you fix this distorion for this lens in either of those programs?

Thanks.

Cute Beagle Ruckus!

I'm so sad but I just sold my beloved Tamron. I upgraded to 5D MKII and it's not compatible. *cry*

Here are some of my last pics with it...

I figured I would add a little something. I've watched this thread for awhile and with the rebates plus BCB, I had to get this lens. So glad I did as it is such a marked improvement over the kit lens. This and my nifty fifty are now my two best friends. :)

I took this in Las Vegas yesterday. I gotta say that I love my Tammy as my walkaround. I had a Sigma 30mm before and I swore by that lens... but the flexibility of this Tammy more than makes up for the small drop in sharpness.

Shot in RAW with a 430 EX flash. Then adjusted the exposure to make the background brighter.

There isn't a ton of pincushion with this lens, which is a big (pleasant) surprise - I haven't done a lot of architecture photos with it so I haven't had to worry about making corrections, but I'm sure that with a little finesse you'd be able to fix any issues (if you're super picky, you may want to stick with a prime or perspective control lens).
