Based on the comments here and the pics posted, I am going to take another chance and order again. If it has any issues, I'll just send it to Tamron to have it calibrated. Just seems like too good a lens for the price. The pics in this thread are incredible. G16

I've watched this thread for awhile and with the rebates plus BCB, I had to get this lens. So glad I did as it is such a marked improvement over the kit lens. This and my nifty fifty are now my two best friends. Canon Rebel XSi - EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 IS - EF-S 55-250mm F/4.5-5.6 - Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8 - Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II

I gotta say that I love my Tammy as my walkaround. I had a Sigma 30mm before and I swore by that lens... but the flexibility of this Tammy more than makes up for the small drop in sharpness. Daniel

Just seems like too good a lens for the price. The pics in this thread are incredible. I do have a question. I am sure that this lens (like all other wider zoom lenses) will have barrel and pincusion distortion. I have Photoshop CS and DPP. Can you fix this distorion for this lens in either of those programs? Thanks. There isn't a ton of pincushion with this lens, which is a big (pleasant) surprise - I haven't done a lot of architecture photos with it so I haven't had to worry about making corrections, but I'm sure that with a little finesse you'd be able to fix any issues (if you're super picky, you may want to stick with a prime or perspective control lens). Oooh, you took a black and white picture of a lawn chair and its shadow and developed it at Save-On; you must be brooding and deep." – Stewie Griffin
