Maui Volcano Sunrise

Got up early and drove up 10,000 ft to catch quirky sunrise at the peak of Haleakala on Maui. The scene changes constantly and you really never know what the trip up will bring....success or utter disappointment. It was very cold and windy, but this one overlooking the crater of the volcano is interesting.

Nice shot. Evey time I see these sunrise shots, I wish I were a morning person:cry:

The mist and clouds really give a sense of "mistery" and the background color of the sunrise sets that off nicely.

did you ride the bike down also? Advice for people that will go there in the future, bring extra..extra jacket because it is very cold around 4AM to 5AM up there. :)
