I do like it but I've seen some pictures posted with the 300. Extremely sharp. I know in the back of my mind I'll always want that lens. Maybe next year. Any way be sure and post some of your pictures with it. I would like to see them. Congrats.

I think you have to look at what you'll be using each lens for. I primarily use the 300/2.8 for sports and f/2.8 is often a requirement because of really low light. f/4 doesn't cut it for icehockey for instance.
