I like your landscape better than his portrait.

The only thing yours is lacking is sunlight on the left banks to bring out the reddish gold earth and more blue in the sky. Not to take away from your beautiful shot at all but those are the only minor differences I see. I think if yours had been taken first you'd be the famous one. :)

Nice display of colors Les _ question for you: I see some users stating don't use ISO 50 on the 5D, is the case with the 1Ds MKII also?

I think that was based on an article on one of the forums, in which it criticised the performance of the 5D at ISO 50, one of the problems with things like this, it becomes gospel :)

I can honestly say, in real life situations, I have not seen any quality drop off shooting at ISO50.

And as an old velvia user I 'think' in ISO 50

The landscape format works well for this image.

Using 50ISO on the 5D one has to be careful, it seems the dynamic range isn't as wide (I noticed blow areas of white on my first shots at ISO50, something I was not used to). But I don't for on eminute think it should be used.

Anyway, wonderful image Les.

Beautiful photo. Really, really captures the interest. And I agree with the other poster, I like it in landscape.

Thanks Theauge, but to be fair, Joe Cornish had the vision and the intelligence to give us his interpretation, I just copied him.

And I have this image as a large print in Joe's book 'First Light'- A landscape photographers Art, and it's gorgeous.

Joe Cornish has been an inspiration for me for a number of years.
