hello,

Do you all find it better to print your photos yourself? or Take them somewhere and have them print them? Which is actually cheaper? I am in the process of setting up my studio to shoot portraits for people and I need to know what you guys prefer.

I currently use my Epson 925 printer and it prints o.k., but if I print a 8 x 10 it sucks up half of my cartridge. and as you know they aren't cheap. Any input would be great. Thanks

I send mine to WHite House Custom Color (www.whcc.com (external link)) which provides excellent results. An 8x10 is $2.

Good luck,

Dennis

I output all of my stuff on an Epson 7600 with Ultrachrome archivable inks on all premium papers like canvas, velvet-fine art paper, enhanced matte, photo-luster, and others. I use ICC profiles to control all output color.

As Frank said - Costco !

I print many of my own on HiTouch photo printers - Dye Sublimation.
No real cost savings but great control over output.

Costco, actually has good printers. They make mistakes from time to time since they do so much volume, but usually can fix it quickly at no extra charge, so I'm happy with that. And you can send it over the computer from home, which is nice and pick it up pretty much the next day. After seeing an 11x14 come out nicely, I know for sure I can trust them to get it right for the most part.
