While i'm not too sure about this i must admit i can't see any of the usual scammer tricks. He might indeed be legit.

Sometimes when a new product comes out, a seller will put them out on eBay with a note like "will be shipped on or about September 15" or the like. However, I see one real big warning sign - "Must contact us first to get this price" That is all I needed to see, so I didn't check further. It is the classic mark of a scammer, and even if this is not a scammer, it could be the "stripped down, did you want the battery and charger with that" bit.Have Fun,

Ouch ,abit hard to read-your text is showing lot's of quote tags

I saw that "Must contact us first to get this price" but that isn't like the off site email addresses that scammers use-it seems to be just a way to be sure buyers contact them first before personal pick-up.

I don't think i'd be tempted but it does seem reasonably ok.
Direct deposit here in australia is a safe way of doing business

It looks like a genuine seller to me - but it seems rather awkward doing business with him - complicated list of fairly masonic procedures are required!

Sorry for the garbled post, but sometimes I create a post and it gets all pushed together.

I can tell it is like that when all the editing features and the emoticons are passive - cannot be selected. Sometimes I'll try to fix it up afterward with my limited HTML skills, but I couldn't do that at that particular time. . .

Have Fun,

Rick

We see this every time a new model hits the market. Someone trying to cash in if they can.

On a separate note. If these cameras do hit the shelves in the couple of weeks it will be quite a coup for Canon. They would have had to have the production line well underway when the announcement was made. Nikon seems to take forever to get their product out after announcing.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

Seems pretty legit. As to feedback, 99.3% of 2000 sales is pretty good - A total of 2331 positive feedback given (must include neutral here I guess, the sums don't add up right, but that's EBay for you). Negative feedback of ONLY 15. 15/2331 is 0.006%, that's damn well low. Let's just say that most retail shops couldn't compete with that sort of "feedack" percentage.

As to masonic requirements, I guess he's just covering his bum and making sure things get done right so that people don't inadvertently do the wrong thing and then delay the shipment of the product (and then whinge/**** about it etc and post negative feedback because of their own laziness/stupidity). I'm finding that stupidity seems to be a virus that's effecting mass proportions of our human populace. Just my 2.2c inc. GST worth here.

I'm on the waiting list for Amazon for just the body but Amazon mentions late October deliver.

I'm calling Best Buy tomorrow and if in stock, with or without lens, I'm buying with a 10% off coupon:

Dude, read the fine print on that coupon, it clearly says it can't be used for digital slr cameras
