i think it will be better if you can get a tighter crop. especially when u have 500mm lens. taking whole body shots really need to catch the right time with the right light.

Good second shot showing the antlers, but the first shot I like best, great pose, detail and colour, well done.

Nice images AlexK. Nice and sharp. Good use of DOF in number one.
IMO I think the second one would be better without the distraction of the second deer and the bird though - Love those antlers!

Love the first one for focus and cuteness. Second one could have done without the duck I'm afraid (but that's just me trying to avoid taking pictures of ducks!!)

Great first nature post....

I very much like the first shot and while the subject in the second one is interesting it's a little too busy for my taste.

Thank you all for your comments!!!
I never shot wildlife before (local zoo and birds in the park are the exeption), so your replies are very welcomed.

I wish I have 500mm... I was using 70-200 f4 (my only L-lense) and I was in my car with wife and two kids :)

I agree about the 2nd shot: it is kind of busy, especially the duck doesn't belong there at all (but they were everywhere:mad:)

Thanx again to everyone and here's more:

I like the picture of the Stag, those antlers are just fantastic and that bit of grass (or whatever it is) makes it just that bit more interesting, adds to the story, and makes you wonder how it got there.

Do you know what the one horned creature is, looks like a gazelle of some sort, but I don't recognise the markings.

I don't know what it is, unfortunately. But i'm sure it's not a Unicorn:)

Thanks for comments.
