I think you are right in this case.While the EF-s lenses can indeed be modified to fit on normal EOS bodies ,they won't cover the full frame at the wide end,give lousy edge resolution at the long end and then there's the risk of dmaging the rear element and/or mirro if any attempt isd amde to take shots while zoomed wide.
