My 17-40 is my main workhorse, I do ALOT of my shooting with it, second would be my 100 macro which always delivers.

-notice the home made front mount with full electronics? When used reversed it offers o.6 -4 x magnification. Not quite the same as the MP-e 65mm macro but very close! :D:D

How did you do that or where did you get that. Looks very interesting.

I just made this my desktop background. I wonder how long it will last before I go broke, or just go crazy from lens envy!

I'de love that as my background. Do you know anywhere to find it at high res (my monitor is 20" 1680x1050.) Thanks!

Leitz Canada? Huh? I thought Leica was german.

They are. That doesn't stop them setting up a factory in Canada though.

Perhaps Leica felt the need to setup an overseas factory to take advantage of cheap labour :-)

My workhorse other then the "lenses" above by fWord is my 300mm f4 IS lens.

That is one sweet lens. Just got it recently and already loving it. Super sharp and does nicely even with a TC on. My only gripe with it is that the filter seems to degrade IQ disastrously. I'm not sure if this is just due to the optical design of all copies of this lens, or whether I've got a 'lemon' Hoya filter.

I'd be hard-pressed to call it my workhorse lens though, because the EF-S 17-85mm would probably be the one.

Close as it looks very similar. It's a 19mm Elmarit (f/2.8) mkI.

my workhorse lens would be my 50mm f1.8
i have found that if i need a wider angle lens i take multiple shots and stitch them, if i need to get in closer, i use my legs

i do use my 75-300 occasionally, and sometimes my 18-55 but i use the 50 the most
