It'll definitely carry that. That's not that much.

Thanks---I try to keep gear to a minimum when I carry it for a good while. I have way too many lenses but have a pretty good idea of what I need for what and want to keep it as light as possible--unless I'm going whole hog with tripod, etc.---then I'll take whatever I have to, whatever bag(s) I have to carry (but generally enlist some help too).

I got affirmation on another forum also--and the review that started this thread is very helpful. Guess I'll be adding yet another bag LOL. I carried the above in a Sling 200---and its just plain awful for shooting with 2 bodies and changing lenses. Hated it---there's too much fiddling with the velcro thingies because of the way its divided. Works fine for one body, several lenses--I carried it all over Maine that way for several weeks, hiking, trekking, etc. But--for just simple 2 body shooting--yuck LOL.

Thanks again.

Diane

Camera on either side and the tamron in the middle, it'll do. Sometimes I have my 20D on the side attached to my 18-50F2.8 while the 70-200 is in the middle with my 430EX. Under the 20D is my 10-20 and OC-E3. It's a huge bag. Only thing on the other side are chargers and other accessory type stuff. It's really bigger than I need, but when I got from gearx.com it was $80 so I had to pick one up. Good and fashionable though when I go to weddings.

I noticed others said the 70-200 f/4 (non IS) won't fit. This surprises me--its not that long and I thought someone at the beginning of the thread had a 100-400 attached.

There is no problem fitting the 70-200 f4 in the bag, you just might not get it and a body attached in it. I can fit the 70-200 fine in my 6MDH by itself.

I think we speak of the 7MDH which you can. I just reread though to make sure.

I probably should have made my post a bit clearer :o

Was talking about the 7MDH, and that it would be fine with the 70-200 because i can fit one in the 6MDH

No, I meant reread her post to make sure what she was talking. I understood you of course.

Yeah, the 7MDH can have camera an long lens, 6MDH just long lens. Another reason why I kept looking at the 7.

Ahh yup. I think i got it now...

Im still torn between a 7MDH and doing the custom thing. Just need something a tad larger and that might hold a couple of books. Besides, the 6MDH and slingshot 200 are very full with what i have at the moment...

Go Crumpler messenger bag at gearx.com. See what they got left for a good price. Some of those bags are a lot bigger then they seem plus their price is hard to pass up. I use my Dreadful Embarrassment as luggage actually. I put my laptop and accessories in it and about 3 days worth of clothing. Good weekend bag as I've used it a couple of time and it was initially for school but I decided to stay online.

FWIW, I regularly put my 70-200mm f/2.8L IS in the 7MDH and it fits pretty well. The 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS is similar.

Just ordered one after debating between teh 6MDH and 7MDH. Can't wait to try it out! I was thinking does anyone own the Thirsty Al? I was thinking about picking an XL one up.

Thirsty Al's are great. I have a few of them. They come in various sizes, the 70's are nice. Great for remote cords, battery chargers, etc. You see them on eBay called John Thursdays, too - I think those were made for distribution abroad, not sure.

Alrite, I just got it, and totally love it. I wish I had more things to put in it now. What do you guys usually store in your thirty al's? I'm thinking about picking up 2.

OK, you guys talked me into ordering a 7meg for my new 40D rig. They look like great bags!

I also may have been influenced by the fact that Crumpler has one of the more, erm, interesting web sites out there right now:

interesting

The adjectives I came up with were much more colorful. =)

I absolutely love their products, but their web site just didn't do it for me as far as ease of finding information goes.
