FWIW, I just did a 7-day cruise with the ol' 7MDH stuffed up with everything I needed; 1D2N w/24-70, 16-35, 70-200, 35L, 580 w/stand, ST-E2, Lumi PM, spare AAs and NP-E3, remote release, Op/Tech strap, cleaning supplies, spare CF, portable HDD/reader and AC cord... No worries, mon. :)

I'm getting (and putting the) mileage on this bad boy. From Europe to the Caribbean to all points in between.

The adjectives I came up with were much more colorful. =)

I absolutely love their products, but their web site just didn't do it for me as far as ease of finding information goes.

I know what you mean - and the product descriptions aren't exactly to the point, are they?

I give them full marks for creativity though.

I'm adding some pictures for people who want a gage on how the bag looks on a person. I'm about 5' 10" and 160lbs.

See you dont carry it like i carry my shoulder bag (6MDH). I have mine so the top of the bag is just below my waistline (Im 6'4" and ~65kgs). It just doesnt feel right to have that much weight sitting higher up.

^ I carry mine lower as well.

When it's really stuffed (LOL, when isn't it?) I like to hang the shoulder strap just on the outside of my shoulder and the bag rests right on my hip on the opposite side. This removes the dead weight off the top of my shoulder - making it easier to carry for a long time.

With all the crap mentioned at the top of this page in place, the bag is definitely packing some weight! But I love it for its compact size and easy access and would do it all over again.

Yep. The top of mine comes right in line with my belt. Maybe a hair below it.

Hey, I was trying to decide which size I crumpler bag I should get. I would like to carry my nikon d40, and perhaps 1-2 smaller film cameras. I would also like to carry like, an average sized sketchbook or 2. (about 5¼" x 8¼"). The ones I have in mind are the 5MDH, and the 6MDH. I don't want one that would end up being too bulky. Basically, which size would be a good "on the go" bag, rather than a traveling bag. Any other brand suggestions are welcome, although I do like the ideology of a camera bag that doesn't look like a normal camera bag. (I just wish the crumpler came in more colors). Thanks for the help!

The black with blue guts was replaced some time last year by the one with tan guts. You would have to look to the second hand market if you want one.
I was lucky when i bought my 6MDH, it was about a month or so before they changed them.

how do you store a large Giottos Rocket Air Blower in your 7 mill? I store mine in a lens spot.

I used up a lens spot for the rocket blower, lens pen, remote shutter release, and, well, anything else I could conveniently cram in there. If I'm losing a lens slot, I'm gonna get as much mileage as possible out of it. =)

Mine goes in the center lens spot with my 70-200 2.8 IS. This is the hugest little bag ever.
