One dies so another can live.
Over the last month we have claimed by a Cooper's Hawk. It's nice to know that these re-established raptors are thriving in the inner city. I take a lot of my photos in our metro area as the sphere of influence has grown over the last decade, Where once were open fields are now new housing, where the parks had a green belt around them, today they have new developments on their borders. Despite all this growth somehow we maintain a healthy population of wildlife.
I wish it had been sunny, but the reality of nature is that it doesn't rest, rain or shine. I guess this is just my perspective but where as I miss the woodlands I grew up in, somehow I still find that beauty, savage and alive, surrounds me.
Feeding after a successful hunt at my bird feeders. I believe I am less one chickadee.
