What would be a good background light to use. I dont have a studio and dont really plan on setting one up right now. Im looking for something I can use like at Christmas time, to use in conjunction with my on camera flash. Different events like that is mainly what Im looking for. The cheaper the better too. How would worklights on a stand work? Im guessing not too good. Thanks

Worklight on a stand works ok as long as you use a blue tinted diffuser to get rid of the extra warm color! They are still not as strong as you normally would want, but they do a lot better than nothing. I used a light blue sheet of rosco rolux and made a frame out of PVC pipe for the diffuser. The sheet of rolux is a couple dollars as is the PVC pipe, so really all you have to buy is the work light. The annoying thing about it is that it get really hot, but after a while you get used to turning it off and on and it isn't so bad
