Hi all,

I meant to get up early, and get some good morning light shots... but I went back to sleep after breakfast and missed it. D'oh! By the time I got to the subject matter to be photographed (a waterfall), there were people everywhere.

I went down to the creek, and just took a few shots to practice exposure where there weren't any people. This was one of them. Not the best, but I though it was good enough to look at in the least.

Maybe next weekend I'll get up... and stay up :p

Wow, that's a very good "practice" shot. ;) On my monitor, the motion blur looks spot-on and the color of the rocks looks very nice.

EDIT: Now that you've added the portrait version, I think I like that best. The additional foreground rocks really works in that shot.

Thank you kind Sirs!

---I'm glad it looks good on your monitor. I'm working from a laptop   I think the first shot may be a little over exposed.

--I had the camera on a tripod about 2.5 ft. above water level, one of the tripod legs in the water just a bit

-If you did sleep late, I'm sure whatever you captured when you got up would be awesome. I also prefered the portrait. Thanks, and I'll try to stay awake next time!

Crisp looking rocks, Laz.
The portrait does have a better comp though the 1st shot has a beatiful flow that doesn't get cut al all.

About getting up early for the light, I've been arround that idea for a while and simply can't conciliate the fun weekend nights with the concept of waking up early enough to catch the sunrise. I'll have to try to be awake until the morning, get the shots then breakfast and then some sleep, maybe. ;)

Looking forward for your next shots!

Cheers,
Jaime

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback!

That's my problem EXACTLY! One of these days, I'll have to start acting my age... instead of the 21 year old trapped inside

I like the second one also _ nice job.

Thanks! I should have taken my time with the compositions, I think I could have done better

Thanks David! Good to see your shots too. Yours seem much better than when I was around here before (and they were always good). Everyone is so good now! I'm scared to post

I think I like the BW versions of these better... but I'm a sucker for BW anyway. It's weird, but of the BW, I might prefer the landscape. Maybe because it has more contrast? I don't know. No... I just had another look... I think the portrait still wins for me.

Thanks again guys. I appreciate the feedback while I try to improve.

These are nice! The two I like the most, in order, are the color landscape and the b&w landscape.
