My son wrestled high school, and thankfully never faced some of the rare female wrestlers. As a boy, it's a real Catch 22. If you beat a girl, no big deal, as you're supposed to, But if you lose, might as well commit hari-kari.

My daughter, on the other hand, wrestled high school also. She only won a few matches as by this time boys are usually stronger than girls. When she did win, though, the boy got up after being pinned with the expression on face that said: So, What Happened? It was great.

Love your picture.

OP, hope you don't mind. I found a shot of my daughter on her way to victory. It's not nearly as good as yours. I just wanted to back up my previous reply with evidence.

As this is the critique corner, the one major flaw I see in the shot is that her hand is chopped off, right at a joint no less. Other than that..good moment.

I don't know why you say that. When my wife delivered the last of my three kids, I was laying on the floor almost passed out. Now, that was a tough thing to do in the middle of a hospital corridor in front of all those people.:o

My two year old niece learned a little expression "girls are smarter than boys" and she has to singsong it to get all the words out.. Who taught it to her?... well, I figured it was life lessons and why not.. ofcourse her dad and grandpa's didn't find it too funny but everybody else did.. Okay, all the women did. And my seven year old just nodded her head like, "ofcourse i've known that forever".. This instantly reminded me of Kaed and the story and the expressions are fantastic!! There's a couple of technical hiccups but the composition over powers them..

Please critique. I've done what I can with this photo. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Suggestions? You want suggestions? Just submit this photo to as many contests as you can find. This is as near perfect a picture as I have ever seen. It should be published. It couldn't be improved in any way. Even the cutoff hand doesn't bother me because the hand could actually be a distraction. The out-of focus boy seems to represent the dazed feeling he could be experiencing. The super confident look in the girl's eyes, staring right into the boy's eyes is a staredown that can't be topped, and the ref... so many messages in his expression I don't know where to begin, but the one that keeps coming to me is "I've been there, kid. Get used to it".

The picture of a lifetime. I'm still looking for mine.

That ref's expression, while said many times, truly is priceless!
