Syntrix you can't be serious...You and your signature full of Sigma gear. You must have been paid off.

Some interesting comparison pics of the 30mm 1.4 against the praised 35L

LOL ;)

The only thing paid off is my credit card, and that was painful.... but well worth it.

lol - "payed" I had to edit that.

SERIOUSLY THOUGH

Even at full list, EVEN if you get it and it does have a problem, that's 15 more bucks to delivery confirmation UPS to Sigma and receive back one of the best 3X primes out there.

I for one believe the whole Sigma QC is WAY overblown. I think there's more operator error out there than anyone wants to admit.

I remember someone posted a thread complaining about poor quality from a 24-70L - Most told her it was user error. I betcha it would have been the exact opposite if it were a 24-70 2.8 EX

UPDATE -- Re: I Just Ordered My First Non-Canon Lens

My Sigma 30MM f/1.4 arrived today :)

I got home too late to try anything outdoors so I will do so tomorrow.

From my indoors samples this lens has a really tight DOF...going to be a learning curve here for sure...

In the meanwhile here is the first "duck(s)" shot :) Focus was on the second row and all were sharp :)

And don't be afraid to stop it down a bit, you will be amazed at how crisp the shots look!

This is a very attractive lens. Even stopped down it is fast. I would have a use for this one at some point, but I have my Zeiss 35mm and Pentax 50mm that do pretty much the job I'd want this one for, but with out AF. Hmmmm.

Certainly works well for me! Looking forward to seeing some shots from you using it :)

Might have to take mine along with me tonight now....
