He was a great guy... these images of him with his family are very heart touching... thank you guys for sharing them.

I'll never forget watching Jay Leno on the Monday before the 2004 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: he was on there, doing his usual zoo stuff and he said that he was going to be in the parade. I was ecstatic, because I was leaving the next day to go to NYC to photograph the parade. When the Animal Planet float came into view, there he was, having an awesome time. To me, it was one of the highlights of the parade... he just had an aura about him that was just so enchanting.

I have just watched the discovery channel tribute to Steve.. very touching.. He and Bindi were very close .. That little girl has lost more than her dad, she has also lost her best friend.. If you get a chance to catch the program i would recommend it.

You should send them to the Zoo for his family to cherish. Steve and his family gave so much to us...maybe we should give some in return. I think #1 captured Steve and that endearing smile.

I loved watching his show because of his passion for wildlife conservation. My heart goes out to his family. It is such a loss that he is gone.

I think the best way to keep Steve's memory is to support his cause. We have had over 1250 views on this thread and your comments always welcome. but please visit this site and donate to Steve's cause. Every little helps.

Steve will be sadly missed here in the U.S. A great man with a wonderful vision of a planet full of wildlife.

Great shots. They show his enjoyment with his work and family. Lucky that you were able to see his show and capture such nice photos!
