Hi all!

I am going to a ship's naming ceremony tonight with a light show and fireworks display and want to get some pictures.

I have a 350d with various lenses but I reckon the best one I've got for the job will be a sigma 28-105 F/2.8-4 because of the larger aperture. I am in a grandstand seating area so can't use a tripod.

And that is as far as I've got....

Any tips for getting some decent pictures would be appreciated and please assume that I know nothing!

Other lenses I've got are kit lens (18-55), Sigma 10-20, Tamron 55-200 and Canon 28-80 USM. I also have a G5 but can't see why that would be any better.

I am at work so probably won't be able to reply to posts but thank you in advance!! Promise to post some pictures if they aren't black cat at night standard!

Put the camera away and enjoy the show. Fireworks without a tripod is futile.
