Typical the only day off for a while and look at the weather, like the raindrops effect though;) .(Juv. Black headed gulls )

Funny I was just reading a book about bird photography and the author was talking about shots of birdss in the the rain and the nice effect you can get with raindrops. I like these two - although I'd get the lapwing out of the first on and the gulls backside out of the second! :)

Yes, the only day off Alan was also my day off and I needed to cut my hedge and couldn't, however I took a shot of a 'magpie in the rain', Have you seen the post? must have been the same day as your shots.
These are very good shots to show how the gulls are affected by the rain as you can clearly see the drops bouncing onto the water, good ones, well done.
