Nice shots - and from the comfort of the car too! :)

I'm off to the high tide at Parkgate tomorrow. Hope for some Shorteared Owls.

No, 'on the way back to' the car, I didn't get to shoot from it. I have to get as close as possible, the 100-400L is stretched a bit shooting birds, those shots are quite heavily cropped. Must ask Santa for a teleconverter this year. :)

I was hoping for a Shorteared tonight, there is sometimes one out hunting over the marsh in an evening. Never when I have a camera with me, of course. We're supposed to have Marsh Harriers at Marshside too, but I've never seen one yet :(

Keep your eyes open for Water Rails tomorrow, they are pushed up towards the wall at high tide, bonus points if you get one of those. :)

Good luck tomorrow.

Didn't see any water rails this time - I didn't go to Parkgate but headed for Denhall Lane instead. Glad I did - saw a Kingfisher flying across the lane - very close encounter.

Yes, they always brighten the day up, don't they. One of these days I might actually get a shot of one! Every one I've seen has either been close up, but moving waaay too fast for me to react and get the shot, or sat fishing and giving me a great chance to watch it through binoculars but too far away to get a shot.

Ah well, one day ;)

I'm working up in Whitehaven first thing in the morning and then calling in a Leighton on my way back - maybe only for an hour or so.
