Green Heron (3 shots)

Finally I get some shots of a Green Heron with this camera. I was fortunate enough to see this bird at work (there is a large pond with koi and other fish). It hung out almost all day (eating the fish or frogs from the pond). Here it was up in a tree overlooking the pond. Hope you enjoy them.

Surprisingly I think it was just yawning! And I got pretty lucky on that. Not perfect, but considering it was manual focus, not bad. Thanks for looking. Here's two more.

Nice series Bob, Great focus and detail. This is one nice looking heron. The preening shot is my favorite of the bunch. Great pose and the light hit him just right. What a great shot! Well done!

Still nice images considering the light in the first 3. The 4th shot really works for me ...nice light, clors and the preening shot is quite nice also.

Great series Bob of the green heron, I love the first shot of some action of the heron, certainly can stretch their necks when they want to. Good shots.
