i was wondering what your thoughts are of using a camera on a mobile phones a your point and shoot?

as i havnt seen anyone meantion they use their phone as one, with the increase of technology intergration i think its a good idea. i know the quality is not amazing but isnt they why you've got your SLR with 5 lenses?

i like the idea because ive always got my phone with me everytime o go anywhere, so if something just hpaaens i can snap it. ive got the Nokia N90 at the time i obught it it was the best camera phone on the market, Boasting 2mp (not that good but good enough) and a CarlZeiss Lens. its only been supassed by the the new one Nokia has just brought out.

here are a few photos ive taken with it, its full of featues, like adjustable white balance, night shot, Macro, Adjustable Colour Tone, Multi shot and a flash (which isnt that great its a ultra bright SMD LED but the new one hase a proper flash bulb.

the new one also has a 3x optical zoom IIRC, now for a camera that awsome

Plus ive got Tom Tom 5 on my phone so i can never get lost:D

I put some pics up to show you what ive done. ok they arnt the best photos but for a camera phone they are great IMO

I think you need to clean your keyboard, looking a bit mucky there...

I'm keeping my little Sony T-1 as my point and shoot, 5mp and fits in my pocket very easily.

I've got a 2mp camera on my cell-phone (SE k750i), it's ok, but I only ever use it for little candid shots when I don't have anything else. Favourite use is to take sneaky shots of people getting bored in meetings.

It's not a stupid idea by any means, and as technology continues to improve and become even more compact then it will be even less stupid.

This website (external link) did a comparison of Canon 5D vs Canon 350D vs Sony Ericsson K800i.
Their conclusion was that for 7"x5" prints the differences were negligible...

I think a phone P&S is a good idea.

I'll never forget the Postmistress in a rural post office in Wales who was robbed by some armed thugs. She pretended that she had an incoming call, snapped the thugs and sent the picture with a message that she was being robbed to the local police and then kept the thugs talking. Amazingly the police turned up within 20 minutes - before the thugs had left.
