Anyone know were to get Polarizing film in rolls greater than 19'' wide?

I can find 24''x30'' sheets but this will not do.
Ultimately I'd like to find the stuff in 48'' wide format.

Sorry I can't help you Doug, but I sure am curious about the application.

What do you use big sheets/rolls of polarizing film for?

A possibility might be supply houses that cater to the motion picture industry. They use huge pieces of filter stock for all sorts of lights. They might just have polarizing materials in huge sizes. But I have no personal link.

I have access to some large pieces off filter stock that are cast offs from a motion picture production company that on occasion I use for color correction on large lights, but no polarizing materials.

Also, can you possibly just glue some smaller pieces together, or would the seams cause unacceptable optical trauma. Possibly you could use several pieces glued to very thin plexiglass or the like. You can easily get plexiglas like materials in 4 X 8 foot sheets.

Enjoy! Lon

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I'm building fluorescent fixed lighting for copy art/Giclée photography in our new facility.

If I can I want the light banks to be 8' tall and 24'' to 36'' wide.
Thus the hunt for huge polarizing sheets/rolls.

The seaming option could/might have to work but experience in the past has shown that even a sliver of un-polarized light can wreak havoc. I'm extremely over the top anal when it comes to art photography so I don't have to "deal" with artists who are even more anal than I!:D

I purchased 19'' rolls from Rosco about 2 years ago. But that is the widest they go.

Found these guys (external link).
We'll see monday if they can help me out.
