I was forced into shooting as second camera on my brother in laws wedding. Paid photographer was a, ahem, Nikon, user. Not even a pro body noink! the Shame, the humanity... Oh well I digress.

I am going to start you off with a few more shots from the rehearsal dinner. This is actually the same shoot as my previous post "the Butterfly Hunter". These pots are ones that feature my kids, of course. What else would you expect of me?

Great pictures, Dante! I hope you didn't intimidate the paid pro too much ;)

Did you find yourself missing your zooms, especially the 24-70? I would think that shooting with only primes would be much more difficult.

BTW, great looking boss you have there :)

Thanks TheSteve. I actually shot the wedding with a 50mm, 135 and a 2X TC. I think I am going to buy a 24-70 today. LOL. No really. I kinda miss my zooms, but when Ii hold "the Hubble", I quickly forget. Where I seriosly missed my zooms was for traveling. Because I decided not to lug all my primes, I had to get creative, where, I could have covered much more ground with 2 zooms. I think I would invest in a belt or vest system if I shot weddings for a living.

Intimidated? How would you feel if you showed up to shoot a wedding and a relative was asked to be second camera and he had a 1Dsmk2? Muhahahahahahahaaaaa. We actually got along fine. He was a nice guy and owns a 5D but wont take it out of studio. He told me he would switch to canon, but has too much $$$ tied up in Noink glass.

If you can hold off for another week or so, Ronald S should be about ready to sell his... again :p

For all the grief we give noink owners, the shooter makes more difference than the equipment. I have a friend shooting a KM Maxxum 7D who takes phenominal portraits.
