At my usual spot - St Mary's Island, Whitley Bay in North East England.
The weather today was fantastic, and there were birds everywhere. Nothing unusual, but that's OK.
All with 30D + 100-400mm, handheld at 400mm.

Dunlin. This is deliberately "low key" from the bird's point of view - I wanted to get the behaviour rather than it just be another dunlin portrait.

Stonechat. This is a youngster (this year's fledging) but it already has the habit of being approachable and conspicuous - which is why photographers love 'em!

Starlings. I love these guys too. They're seen by the public over here and elsewhere to be drab, noisy nuisances, but in Summer dress, and in Summer light, they can look positively tropical!

Starling. And finally... A behaviour shot really (though I love the colours around the bird) - people don't really realise how successful these birds can be at making a living on the seashore.
