That's my kind of car. I'd love to have something like that.
My Midget was, if I remember correctly, a 1978. A tiny two-seater, manual transmission ragtop. Not a whole lot under the hood, but when the car weighs about as much as a modern motorcycle, it doesn't need much. It had plenty of power.
The carburetor was some mechanical monstrosity whose brand name I don't remember (started with a Z, I think). I had a problem with it once, but fortunately for me, when I had that car I had a roommate who was a mechanic for Penske. He rebuilt the carb for me one Saturday afternoon for free. Roommates like that are handy to have!
One day when I was driving the Midget to work (just before midnight), all the lights went out. I ended up having to have the car rewired. That's when I learned about Lucas and why the Brits drink their beer warm...
