here's a full shot of the MG (1938 model TA)

That's my kind of car. I'd love to have something like that.

My Midget was, if I remember correctly, a 1978. A tiny two-seater, manual transmission ragtop. Not a whole lot under the hood, but when the car weighs about as much as a modern motorcycle, it doesn't need much. It had plenty of power.

The carburetor was some mechanical monstrosity whose brand name I don't remember (started with a Z, I think). I had a problem with it once, but fortunately for me, when I had that car I had a roommate who was a mechanic for Penske. He rebuilt the carb for me one Saturday afternoon for free. Roommates like that are handy to have!

One day when I was driving the Midget to work (just before midnight), all the lights went out. I ended up having to have the car rewired. That's when I learned about Lucas and why the Brits drink their beer warm...

I agree lonnie.... I'd love to have a car like that old MG (you'de expect it would be slow but according to the plaque the top speed is 79Mph and it cost £220 when new (no doubt that was a hell of a lot of money back then). not too shabby for a car thats nearly 70 years old...)
midgets are notorious for breaking down and apparently impossible to get parts for nowadays. sweet wee cars tho.

Alan, that second set of museum pics were great too, I like to stuff like this, I may not ever get to otherwise.

Were you a part of the Scotland POTN meet? The reason I ask is I am curious as to the whereabouts of Mike Bell, I have hot seen his mug around here for a while.

Jim, I could be wrong, so don't quote me on this, but I think, when Dimitri started his forum, Mike Bell went over there. He's a moderator and an all around behind the scenes guy there. He did both for awhile, but then just stopped coming here. :( I miss him and his photos.

Edit: It says his last activity here was only 3 days ago. So he still does visit us then. ;)

But, if you don't do stuff like that to push it a bit, you will take forever to heal. Glad to hear it is getting better.
