Heck, I was excited just to get on the list at all. The Grand Prize got an XTi w/ kit lens, I got an a550, and 2nd Prize got, heck, I don't know, a swift kick to the head or something. I didn't even pay attention. I didn't expect to win anything at all. Not too sure what I'm going to do with it, to be honest. I may keep it, but I've already got a G6. I may wind up selling it and picking up some new gear.... or a new camera bag. One can never have too many camera bags.

You could ask them if you could have the equivalent in store credit and then buy what you want.

Either way, it's still better than what I got.:D

Grand Prize is above that.

Nope. It went Grand Prize, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and honorable mention.

random comment:

Ghost rider is an ok movie. Not great, but it doesn't suck.

Random comment 2:

Ghost rider may not be suitable for younger viewers, regardless of the fact that your brother saw it already and said it was great and the boys would love it.

Does said brother have kids?

Thanks for the review. I kinda wanted to watch it.

Said brother has no kids.

I guess it wasn't any worse than the Harry Potter movies. But there were some pretty gruesome scenes, and Tevin ended up covering his face more often than not.
If I had seen it first, I would have never let him watch it. The DVD that we got was not rated. (Not unrated, as in bad...just 'not rated'. I don't know why). And I was led to believe it was PG. I think its probably more in the lines of a PG 13.

The special effects are good. The story line is OK. Its not one I would recommend to my friends unless they were really into the comic book story movies.

Rule #1: Never, ever accept movie reviews from people that don't have kids. If someone said to me, "Hey, your kids will love this movie," and they themselves have no kids, forget it.

Rule #2: Never, ever assume the rating.

I got zinged more than once by ignoring these rules.

I like comic book movies as a rule, but I never really got into Ghost Rider.

Yeah, I'm a dummyhead (that has happened more and more lately. Wonder if it's something I'm eating?) I know better, and I should have just turned it off, but we rented it specially for them, and made a family movie night out of it with snacks and everything.
Everytime a scary scene would happen, I would say to myself, whew, glad that's over.

There's just a lot of disturbing images... skulls and fire and people turning black and sinking into themselves as they die. Lots of funky voices with nasty faces with teeth and weird eyes. You know... nightmare stuff.

Yeah, that sounds like the comic. It was a bit too dark for me. Batman was "dark", but Ghost Rider was pitch black, at least to me. My imagination was a bit too vivid for it.

just a quick stop in to say that Puddle won first prize in the tulip photo contest we all entered.

Congrats, Puddles! :D

I posted a duck shot and encouraged everyone to look at the EXIF. No one did. :p

I tried, but I didn't have an EXIF reader extension installed in Firefox on the computer I was using at the time. And I was too lazy to just save it and look at it with FastStone. I was guessing it would probably say "Nikon" in there somewhere... :p

Congrats on the new toy! :D

I heard Lonnie got the keys here instead of there and there was a bit upset.

Yeah, Jon was threatening to lock me in the dungeon for posting it here instead of in Tupperville. LOL

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Thanks, Lonnie.

Did Cat get the 200 f/2.8? Sweet. That's an excellent lens.
