For those that have asked in the past, we got the results from Nathan's MRI scans yesterday. Apparently they have not shown anything wrong. Not really sure how to take that. On one level, it's great, but it would have been better to have a reason for why Nathan's walking like he is. Now we have to sort out an appointment with the specialist to talk about other possible reasons and what we need to do now. It'll probably take a couple of months to get that appointment.

Good news so far Mark, but I understand that the fact that it doesn't give you the answer leaves it still frustrating. Knowing, regardless of what it is, is much better than not knowing. At least you can make a plan for him getting better. My best wishes for you all towards a final recovery for Nathan.

I'm eating fresh cherries, picked fresh from our tree. Yum.

Mmmmm, Che-rries
I have been gorging on those for the last week or so. I love fruit and when another fresh one comes out, I'm all over it. :)

Awesome flower shots Deb, you are really getting some great shots these days.

Dan, I am going to copy down those settings to try for fireworks, I have never tried shooting them either. We usually pitch together a few hundred bucks and buy our own, and set them off out at our property on Canada Day (July 1). The pyromaniac in me is going to have trouble with taking photos instead of lighting the fuses though. :)

I rarely do the fireworks. Sunset is around 9-ish, and they start lighting them off around 9:30 or so. I have to get up for work around 3:30 in the morning, so staying up for fireworks is something I do only when I have the next day off. I don't have the 5th off, but I really want to try and shoot the fireworks this year.... I'll just be tired the next day.

I tend to ramble. Feel free to put me on ignore.

I started working out at the Y last week, but not seriously dieting. But I had a very depressing experience today so I'm getting more serious about reducing the calorie intake. :(

Great photos, Deb! I wish I had time to shoot.

Wanda, I have a depressing experience every day. I have to get up out of bed, get dressed and go to work. :(

If you can, practice with those that can be bought, in some states, as they tend to go about the same highth. Curt kept questioning me last year about my settings...stopped, however; when we compared shots...but; I can't tell you off hand what my settings were. I'll have to go find some shots and check the exif. Will write myself a post-it to check on this tomorrow afternoon, when I won't need quite so long of nappy.

That sounds great Becky Thanks!

Jamie, I saved these settings from last year's posts, hoping that I wouldn't erase them, and that I would get a chance to shoot fireworks....

One was as to set your camera @ ISO 100 and Manual mode:

f/8 for 4" or
f/11 for 8" or
f/16 for 16" or
f/22 for 30"

The other way was to set the camera on Av mode:

f/8 @ ISO 100 or
f/11 @ ISO 200 or
f/16@ ISO 400 or
f/22 @ ISO 800

Obviously, for either one of these procedures, you'd need to utilize the tripod.

Anyway, hope this helps.

Thanks Dan. <printing Dan's post>

Hmm, that's the GOOD part of my day!

I need advice from the experienced flyers here (Lonnie, you may stay at MySpace). I have thumb drives I carry on my keychain, can I take those on airplanes without playing 50 questions with TSA? And if I have a ton of camera gear in my carryon, will I get pulled aside and have to prove that its all glass and not dynamite? Thanks!

the jump drives I would not see as being and issure. Of course they will go through the X-Ray machine, but I don't think that will harm them. When I flew to Orlando, I had my back pack and all my equipment. I had no problems.

Thanks Jamie. Maybe I should just stop worrying. When Allie was 4 we flew to Hawaii and she got pulled out of line and questioned about stuff in her backpack. She had Barbie dolls in her backpack and they have wires in them. The dolls just showed up as a bunch of wires on the xray. I guess it was a legit inspection, but it didn't feel good anyway. You'd think they'd know a Barbie doll when they saw one, doesn't every girl travel with a couple??

Me too, right now it is blue berries.

Hair went on fast so I grabbed the first shot I could find from last year. Manual Settings in the bottom of the frame - Hand Held:

In October, they put my bag through the x-ray at O'Hare and that was it. My SIL had the surprise 30D body in her baggage and they out it through twice I suppose cause there wasn't any other camera gear and they wanted to double check. On the way out of Ft. Lauderdale, they did a hand expection took all of 2 minutes, including wiping around the edge of the bag looking for drug residue.
