Great shots Zane. A very interesting border crossing and a fantastic mountain view. Where was that last shot taken?

It is a formation referred to as "Lion Head", shot 114.8 Kilometers from Anchorage

I'm perfectly happy in Washington. :)
Alaska is beautiful though. It's a great place but I'd never live there.

You live in a Beautiful state so that is understandable. Locals don't want people to move there it cuts into the dividends they get payed from huge mineral deposits mined in the state. There is only 660,000 residents. It is a different way of life."we are not in Kansas anymore Toto" was a constant them of the trip.

I just lashed out against an idiot on a hiking related mailing list I'm subscribed to. I feel dirty now. And I need to double my blood pressure meds for today... :(

You sound mad at yourself not him. Get over it you know you are better than that. Happy pill can help;)

....but it would have been better to have a reason for why ..... It'll probably take a couple of months to get that appointment.

I know that feeling:rolleyes: We expect modern medicine to give us answers, it is so darn frustrating when they don't know. Even worse they tell you it COULD be bad even if they don't think so just to cover their butt. Sounds physical not related to something bad so that is good.

I'm eating fresh cherries, picked fresh from our tree. Yum.

It was cherry season when I was in Oregon, yum.

I need advice from the experienced flyers here (Lonnie, you may stay at MySpace). I have thumb drives I carry on my keychain, can I take those on airplanes without playing 50 questions with TSA? And if I have a ton of camera gear in my carry on, will I get pulled aside and have to prove that its all glass and not dynamite? Thanks!

It is no problem unless they want it to be. Airport security is a farce. Composite knives are easily available that are not detected by metal detectors. One could easily carry enough nitrate based explosive on board to severely damage or bring a plane down. TSA knows this, hence the ban on liquids that can be mixed with an easily available nitrate. Bill had a small beautiful pocket knife worth $1600 taken by them because he forgot it in his carry on. The truth is anyone trying to take over a plane will have the snot beat out of them by the passengers now days;).

Just shot this we fella nattering at me right outside my office window. He was a nice relief in a day where I seemed to get nothing done.

Nice shot, I have those worthless days, today was okay.

I like it  (heeee) I'm loading up some real (not pixel peeper shots now) but I'm very happy with it. Don't seem to be having any of the trouble that some others are having.
