Thanks Alan. He's not usually cuddly, but after the fall he sure was. Even let me carry him around.
I think you should hold off on going back to work. I know you're bored, but at least give it another week. Don't muck up the healing process...

What's a basketball goal? Do you mean the rim? That would be one heck of a fall!

I am not sure how far up he got. We have one of those ones you can buy and put out in your driveway - it has a pole that it stands on. I wanted to know what the heck he was doing, but didn't have the heart to ask him while he was in so much pain.

Hi Athena. Sorry to hear 'bout Matthew. When you say, "...smashed his face up" do you mean he broke facial bones, or major contusion, or major scrape? Poor kid. That's gotta hurt.
Nothing broken that I could tell, just scraped all up and swollen. It's a mess to look at, but hopefull will heal quickly.
