I've considered putting a 1 gig card in my wallet and just leaving it in there... just in case. However, I don't know what that would do to the poor thing over time.

I've carried a 256Mb card (yeah, it's pretty old) in my back pocket for about two years now, to ferry small files back and forth between work and home. I already posted a shot showing what eventually happened to it over time, but in case you missed it:

IMAGE: http://www.ldphotography.net/cdpf/brokencfcard.jpg

But... It still works! ;) I just have to hold the two halves together when I slide it into the card reader. I hasn't failed me yet...

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

We hate the heat, too. But won't you be at the coast? It's much cooler there. We're over the Coastal Range in the Willamette Valley. It gets hot over here.

I remember from our trip to Oregon 11 summers ago that it was cooler on the coast and there was not much for warm water swimming. We took a day trip to a park I believe was called Myrtle Grove State Park and did some swimming in a small river there. It was very warm and sunny there and we had a blast, only one other group where we were.

It's still that way. You swim in the ocean with a wet suit...you can wade in regular swim clothes and hope you don't catch hypothermia! But we do mostly swim in rivers/lakes around here.

Great shots Zane!!!! The angle on the shoes with the fire in background is superb. If you have an office are at your stables that should go on the wall, IMHO. All the shots are very well composed, great colors and light.
A lesson in trimming cow hooves, they are not done in the same manner as Zane showed with horses. Rather the cows are lead into a pen that restrains them. The cages is then tilted so the cow is laying on her side and feet are sticking out where the trimmer can get to them.

Thanks! Interesting cow fact I did not know that. It is amazing that horses get accustomed to and will stand and tolerate a guy nailing stuff to their feet.

 How do you define "is"?.

Great shot, you have posted some really good macros the last few days.

Really good shots, thanks for posting. The prices you are showing are reflective of a small venue and fresh locally grown food. You have to figure this is food grown and harvested by Americans doing their own work. Not foreign grown or mass farmed stuff harvested by people making poverty level wages. The fruit looks exquisite and you can bet they did not sneak some nasty chemicals on it like the stuff coming from south of the border. I happily pay extra to support local farming and get a quality product any day.
P.S. send some currants this way. Other than the gooseberry plant in my yard I have never seen currants. They sure don't have them at my grocery store.

I saw an article where they drove over one, put it in the clothes washer and generally mistreated it and it still worked fine.

Do you have hedge hogs? I understand they are native there.

Yes, we have hedgehogs. Not seen one in the garden yet, but we've got the right habitat for them.

I've seen quite a few posts here on POTN from people doing similar things. These cards are pretty rugged!

Hmmm... Looks like I've been moderated. Tommy deleted two of my posts (along with many, many others) from the London Tubes thread.

I thought I was being non-confrontational... I learned my lesson a couple weeks ago. I hope my posts were only deleted because they were part of the off-topic flaming banter that followed a reply by, well... Someone who tends to inspire that kind of debate around here.

I wonder how long it will be before he gets banned...

Well I thought the farmers market would have affordable fruits and veggies, I forgot where I live...

I'm curious on the price of the blue berries. I just paid $1.50 for a 1/2 quart yesterday for New Jersey Blue Berries.

I did buy some of these tho

Oh I haven't bought one of those in a long time. Need to do that the next opportunity for no other reason than to reminisce on childhood memories.:D

On a stupider note, I took my camera and a couple lenses along. Damn thing does not record images well without a CF card.

Been there, done that, kick myself everytime.

Pete the macros you've been sharing are fanatastic.
