. I picked up samples today and need to go out and sight in an itty bitty 1/2 x 1 inch sample to decide on color.

Ask for or buy a tiny sample can of the stain. Stain a big piece of wood of the same type and place it on site so you can get a better idea.

Good idea, thanks Zane. When we get the choice narrowed down, I think I'll do this. I do know at this point I want to go with a semi-solid not solid so the grain shows through.

I saw an article where they drove over one, put it in the clothes washer and generally mistreated it and it still worked fine.

I have washed and dried my thumbdrive more than once, and I went swimming with it int he pocket of my bathing suit once too!!

Hmmm... Looks like I've been moderated. Tommy deleted two of my posts (along with many, many others) from the London Tubes thread.

going off to search for the thread...

Many thanks. Hopefully I've got some now that are good enough to enter into next year's book.

Pete I think your macro's of late have been absolutely fabulous. I especially liked the shield bug.

Oh that, not sure what I was drinkin' that day. :)
Good to see you back from that other place. I did go by and lurk, it does look interesting. There is just not enough time to peruse all the great photo sites around.

Not leaving through choice, but given my last contribution in the thread under discussion I have a feeling I may be moderated off for a bit.

(Note the "gag" in the new Avatar :-) )

Still can't find this thread.
