I do believe the first "chat" thread was TPBM... lol Ahh the good ol days. This thread was created because Pekka told us to stop chatting in the competition section. I think some insecure people came in here, didn't fit in and felt they needed to create their own thread and the trend has continued. =)

I think its discipline. As in we don't have any :)
Not really. I don't know what the difference is really. I always think of the Tuppers as slightly more grown up than us'ns

oh good heavens, then I wonder why they put up with Dan and I   (maybe we're just mascots LOL)

Nope. The Kiwis beat us by several months, if I recall correctly. They just put it in the Members Activities section, and for some reason it's never been moved over here.

Oh... I just thought of one of the biggest differences between this thread and RRTP!

Tons o' mods hang out in RRTP. They only make token appearances in here, and even then, it's pretty rare. We get away with more stuff here... ;)

Sometimes I simply just post in whichever thread is nearer the top of the list.

Except when theres sometimes a gear-head discussion going on, when Ill run and hide here in case I get tempted to spend anything.

You've been hiding a lot lately. What was the last time you spent any real money on camera gear?

You two are cute 'n cuddly, so that may be it. ;)

Really, of the folk who continue to post on either thread, I don't think that any would have trouble getting along on whichever thread they post too. The only thing I have seen on chat threads other than these two, is that there are some posters definitely who definitely put themselves above some of the other folk, and that is something that really burns me. Here, no matter what your background, what you do for a living, or your expertise in photography, everyone is treat equally. Well, except me, I get way more Pppppffffft's and fish slaps than average. ;)

Jeez... This State Farm adjuster still isn't answering her phone! I've been trying to call her every ten minutes for four hours now! I give up...

Instead of wasting it on frivolous extravagances like houses, furniture and food !

Me too, I just bought a huge Pelican Case.
Fortunately though, I did already have the roof to put it under. :)

But really Pete, I think it's time for you to get a new photo toy, what is it you'd be needing. We would be glad to politely encourage such a purchase. :)

Speaking of spending money.. I've been spending a lot on house hold items.. It's GOT to be getting near time for me to spend a little on a Sigma 10-20. :)

Bah... I have a great place right behind my couch that holds all my camera gear (and hiking backpacks, by the way, which take up MUCH more room than my camera gear, if you can believe that). :p

Well, no wonder. That borders on the "phsycotically needy weirdo that keeps calling every few minutes so I'm going to ignore him because he's scaring me" scenario.

Errrr... THe only thing I could think of a use for is some long, fast glass...

But there's no way I could afford such an extravagence...
