I got a new toy,a VRD-MC3 DVD burner made by Sony. It is a stand alone no computer needed. It has card slots in it as well as usb, fire wire, and AV connections. I can burn video to DVD in the field and drop it to the media quickly.

I have an older version of something like this. It's what we all had to use before they got all fancy with on the go media storage. Does it have a screen (mine does not).

HA!!! I just saw where Jim most DEFINITELY deserves a fish slap. Now just to sit back and wait for it.

You GO Athena!! ;)

haha - I KNEW I wouldn't be in trouble for using the fish in that instance. See Jim - it was justified. ;)

I kinda knew there was more than enough of "us" to carry through tpbm with full sails up. I just happen to enjoy PetKal's style of photography, so I voted that way.

My hearth is always warmed here though.... :D

what he means is he didn't realize it's a public poll.

State Farm? pff.. I gave up on them the minute they charged me triple the preferred rate on my wife (who has a perfect driving record), when I added her to my policy based on my credit score.

I gave up on State Farm back in the mid 80's when my dad worked for them for a very short period of time as an insurance salesman...

Unfortunately, I have no choice in the matter. I have to deal with them. My insurance is with Mercury (extremely stupid commercials, but the service is wonderful). Before Mercury, I was with Allstate, who I was also very happy with.

But, the guy who rear-ended Ellen is insured by State Farm. So, I'm stuck with them... :( By some strange twist of fate, the woman who caused the accident that totaled my last car in 2004 was also insured by State Farm.

Good luck! Just be sure they don't attempt to write your car off as a total loss even though it's repairable. (Had them attempt to do that with me, once after someone decided to make a left turn without looking...)

Do tell me about the giving up on them when your dad was a salesman bit.. That has my curiosity piqued.

In the UK (if comprehensively insured) your insurance company would deal directly with the other parties insurance company and there is no need to get personally involved at all.

Nicely done, Jamie. :D

Does anyone know a quick and easy way to merge a few photos of fireworks together? I can use the marquis, edit> copy then paste, but then I can't put them too close together or you can see the black edges overlapping. Any thoughts?

I feel sorry for the Dare Officers that have to drive a Hyundai Elantra around over there. :p The ones where I grew up drove Mustangs and cool cars like that. The tibby wouldn't be a bad option though.

OK, here's what I'm trying to do. Marian is scrapbooking our trip, and she wants some pics of the fireworks. I want to print as few pics as possible, but with the most 'blossoms' ;) on them.

This is how it looks with my method... I'm wondering if there is another way? This is 7 different photos.

They are not driving them. We are advertising them. silly. But the detectives are driving Santa Fe's. BTW the 07 Elantra's are great. I am on my third one for a demo.

I want to be able to overlap the different fireworks. How it is now, each one has to be fairly seperate, otherwise you can see the black on top of the other shots. (Does that make sense?)

I guess what I'm wondering, is if there's a way to select ONLY the fireworks, (with none of the sky) before pasting into another picture?

Try selecting by color using the sky color, then inverting the selection?

Also, try selecting the whole thing and use the "Screen" blending mode when adding layers.
