The 30D is about the best all round compromise if you don't want to spend big money like the 5D and up. Great handling, fast operation, nice weight and build. Good AF. Much nicer to use than the 300D and 350D. IQ a tad better, but not that much. The 5D at more than twice the price certainly isn't twice the camera. The 30D is twice the camera over the 300D IMO. You will soon find out how good instant start up is for mexample. Overall, it is like the difference between a nice BF but who has irritating habits and one who is great to be with and a long term keeper ;-)a

I shot an outdoor concert tonight, the band was SMOKIN'!! R&B/Motown cover band the joint was jumping! Downloading now, shot 4 gigs!
