Sounds like a busy day, definitely.

NOTE: don't ever leave your camera bag in the boot of your car. EVER. ;)

Torrential rain is interesting...any pics? ;) Glad you made it home safe.

You know what I just realized? Being awake and all, in a quiet house...

My daughter gets up at 6:30am to get ready for school. Her alarm has been going off every 10 minutes since 5:30.
What a wasted hour of sleep!
She wouldnt be as tired at 6:30, if she could sleep soundly till then rather than being awakened every 10 minutes to hit a snooze button. Sheesh.
Teenagers

Fortunately, I have never heard her alarm before, because she is on the other end of the house, and I am usually sleeping soundly right now.

Haha.. no shots of the torrential rain, didn't want to get anything wet (especially myself) - and after that day, I just wanted to get home.

It gets pretty interesting driving when you can feel the wind blowing your car around and the traction control warning light flashing when you're aquaplaning... Good thing I've got a nice large car and wide tyres...

Pete sounds like a great day.

We went and saw our nieces in the Nutcracker. I took a few "illegal" shots. Ooop I'm sorry didn't see that NO PHOTOGRAPHS etc in the program;). It was a very good production, we are going to contact the dance studio and see about shooting their next show, in June. Then we went a block further and met the entire family for dinner which meant lots and lots of little kids. Got a few pictures there, kids are always fun to catch.

Was so beat when we got home, I went to bed at 8:30.

Pete, I just noticed in your sig, you state that you 'now have all the glass you need'.

 you need to add "for right now..... "

Because you could always use more glass. ;)
What if, one day you would like to try a fisheye or a tilt-shift?
What if one day, you find you could really use a 500mm?
What if the occasion arises where you need the speed of an f2 or better with a longer (or shorter) reach than the 50?

There are so many variables in life. I don't think you should make such a statement. Nope.

Sounds like fun Becky.
Will be looking forward to later seeing shots of plastic models from Pete, and nutcracker shots from Becky.
I'm going to be off most of the day, but will catch ya'll later. :D

I used to do that. Now I don't even use an alarm clock. I never seem to get more than four or five hours of sleep at a time anyway, so there's no need for one. I'm up at least six hours before I have to go to work...

Ya Pete, I was wondering about that line about having all the gear you need.

I think Lonnie is quite capable of convincing you to by more, but Lonnie, if you ever need a little back-up..........;)

Skiing yesterday makes me realize how much I need to add another body. I always seemed to have the wrong lens on the camera and often I barely had enough time to get the camera out, let alone have the right lens on. Oh well, with dropping a schwack of money on lenses in the last couple of days I think I will just have to wait to see what Canon's next offering is this spring in their consumer line-up before taking the plunge (sure would like that 5D though, and with the $700 rebate on it, hmmmmm.)

After Christmas I will likely be selling a couple of my redundant lenses. I am noticing a drop in the price in used lenses right now, must be 'cause people are spending their spare chance on Christmas stuff. This happened last year at this time too.

I think skiiing would make me want another, more muscular, body....

...and a different kind of body for the apres ski party...

All we have to do is get Pete to admit his lens desires out loud, I know they are inside him screaming to be heard. ;)

Here you go. I found some model shots on my USB flash disk. These are pretty boring. I got some better close-up/angled ones with the 10-22, but I don't have access to those right now.
