It helps out quite a bit with the macro work as well, especially how you can redirect the bounce in any direction you like...

It still fits on the 580, and is held in place with a rubber band. I cut a couple different types of material to put on the inside for different reflective effects, but the main part is from an old plastic milk carton. Works pretty well, for a homemade device, and looks similar to what you have there. The 580 has a little pull out reflector for doing catch lights and giving a small amount of the light directly onto the subject, but it is limited to very little adjustment. It isn't very big either. I'm considering a proper diffuser though as I find myself taking more shots of people. Taking shots with the reflector on seems to be a little inconsistant. It also gets in the way a fair bit when it's crowded...
