Woo-hoo Terri!! you will have some fun, I am still getting to know mine. I have ideas but macro takes a little more time and effort for me in the set up and lighting if I am not outside on a nice day but I do find the plotting and scheming rather fun.

Yep Terri it was my 50 with the tubes (all of them), I don't really manually focus with the ring, just move myself closer and farther away till its in focus. It was too close to the ground to use a tripod and the one I have is REALLY lousy.

Bummer! I've been thinking about the Gorilla Pod (external link)for just such occasions.

The funny thing is, I never gave Macro a second thought until joining this forum  But I have seen so many wonderful photo's I've just gotta try it myself, LOL.

yes I find those intriguing, perhaps soon I'll test one out. I want to see it and feel it before I buy one.

What do you all use for monitor calibration?

I found my photoshop serial # and as soon as I 'activated' my trial version I could open RAW files.

I have the Huey (external link). I like what it has done for my monitor. Now if I could just get my printer to agree...

I got a $25 dollar gift card to best buy and a 50 dollar american express gift check, I think I'll head over there on new years day and see what I might get a deal on. I need a printer, have none at all for the moment. I might combine those for a new canon multi print/scan/copy machine that has gotten good reviews or a monitor calibrathion doo-hickey if they carry them.

Oooooh :) Goodie shopping! What fun.
I had bought an HPPhotosmart 3210A all-in-one before joing this forum. I am actually quite pleased with it for the price I paid (it also has the ability to scan negatives, which is a project for another day/life ) If I don't monkey with my pics it prints very well. It's only when I adjust color and such that I have a problem.

OK, I'm back.

I hope that your surprise is tubes, Terri.

So activation did it, good. Now you're back in the game. So what are the new shots you needed to process?

My eyes see well enough, and the camera is capable enough, now if they would just work together.

That is quite a process to get CS2 loaded and activated and all. What a pain. It's worth it when it's done though. :)

I'll stick with my Paint Shop Pro. The learning curve in that is enough for me

Hmmm, didn't even think to look at that...I just like the flexibility of the thing. And, it's cute :)

someone on the forum uses his with a ball head I'm pretty sure, some day I'll start looking into tripods and heads and quick release...it all seems vaguely confusing and expensive at the moment.
