Thanks for the wiki Lonnie - it's awful malicious! For the life of me I can't figure out why people do such things... If you were some big corporation that was abusing animals and I were an animal rights activist that's one thing, but to a lovely photography site?? Got any computer savvy arch rivals??

Pete, I really like those!
Love #1... what a neat place.
#2... the girl between the pillars cracks me up.
#3... beautiful as always.
#4 is great, I love the light on the building, but agree with Crissa that it should be lightened in the foreground a bit.

Thank you thank you thank you.... I might actually enter the pillar one for the competition tonight, as well as the church one.

I actually meant for the foreground to be a little bit dark (since it's in the shade of surrounding trees), however you may notice that I dodged some of the floral tributes to bring them into the sunlight a bit more. I'll dodge a couple more spots to dapple things out a bit. I wanted the church to be a little secluded.

Pete.... is THIS the same spot where you took your squirrel picture??
It looks like it.

Haha... Yeah, looks like it. A bit warm there for Brit squirrels though...!

Great news on the lens Crissa. Lets hope you get your hands on it soon!!

Yep, in the next day or so. Things have been a bit hectic post-Christmas.

Doesn't mean you can't still contribute to the first two of course..!

The theme for that will be "Patterns" by the way....

I could have gone into b&h and picked it up, but the tax is way worse than the shipping. I am hoping to have it by today or tomorrow, they usually get things here very fast since they are so close. I'll probably head in this weekend tho to sell my other stuff since there doesn't seem any interest here.

Thanks for the heads up, Pete. Now that the hectic pace has calmed down, I might just have the opportunity to get out and shoot for all three mojo's.

Crissa, good luck on selling your equipment and have fun with your new lens, we will expect some shots, this weekend.

Thanks Becky, fortunately they already made me an offer, just have to take them up on it! Now getting out of there without spending it, aye there's the rub!

Not that I'm aware of. There is someone parked at ldphotography.com, but she hasn't updated her site in years. I wish she'd abandon it so I could take the domain name. Other than that, I don't have any enemies that I'm aware of.

I just noticed a few minutes ago that the attack has stopped, and my site is now responding very quickly. I hope it's finished for good! I haven't heard back from my host yet, though. I wonder what they did.

Lonnie. Do you know if it was a sustained ping attack on the same port, or was it wide-spectrum? A denial-of-service-attack is just that, to bring your site down (or hamper it to such an extent that people can't use it). However, if it was wide-spectrum, then it's more of an intrusion attempt to get in and either steal information from within or use your site to attack others.

Glad the storm's abated though...

I'm not sure, but I think it was a lot more than just a ping attack. They were really hammering my FTP port, but I'm not sure if they were trying to get in or just keep the server busy. I do have a very secure password, but with all the hammering they did for a straight week, I don't think any password would be truly safe if they were trying to guess it by brute force. Besides, if they were keeping the server so busy *I* couldn't get in, I doubt they could get in either. They were just shutting it down.

Ack - Sorry to bear bad news, Lonnie, I could access it for a moment but now it seems to be down again :(

This time it went down real fast, like someone had pulled a plug or something. That had to be the SysAdmin. Like I said, they haven't sent me an email with an update, so they're probably still working on it. At least I saw a little progress there. We'll see...
