What I have noticed is that the color is better and when I look at my 'curves' setting I always have the slight S, that is something I always had to adjust in the Tammy.

The comparrison is amazing. Question, where do you ceck the 'curves'?

Crissa:
*taking deep breath to ask embarrassing question*

Not only ditto to Becky's question, but what does the 'slight S' in curves settings mean? <I feel so ignorant>

the exif is in tact, they were both taken at the long end of their respective lenses, f/2.8, iso 800, on board flash, camera selected shutter. I adjusted WB to "normal" and resized for web. While the Tammy is obviously lacking in color detail it actually has a sharper image overall if you pixel peep.

When you open a RAW image in photoshop (elements or CS2) one of the adjustments available to you is the "curves" which is essentially a graph with a diagonal line, it should have a slight s shape to it for best exposure and contrast.

Ahhhh. Thanks :D I use RSE for Raw and Paint Shop Pro X for PP. I'll have to investigate the location of that setting!

Crissa, that sure is a drastic difference between the two lenses.

Curves is an adjustment option in PS that allows you to change your image's color and contrast by re-mapping brightness values. You can apply it to the image overall or to an adjustment layer. It is an extremely powerful tool to add to your PP toolbox. If I could have only one adjustment per photo, it would be Curves.

Cat you can peek here (external link), but make sure there are no young eyes about as it could raise a whole bunch of questions. This is what you get when you look up grundle on wikipedia.
