Ya know...since moving the furniture around in the house my cat LOVES to sit under my computer station. Only problem is that when I 'share' the space with him he claws and bites my feet!!

Keep a can of compressed air near by. It is very effective cat repellent when needed. You only need make the noise and not blow it at them. I suggest not blowing it when your guy is under the desk as they usually pop 3 feet straight up. If you choose to do it while he is under the desk have a video camera near by.

No problem Crissa. It's a good thing to know.
I mentioned it to my husband, who apparently has known the words meaning since the beginning, but never bothered to tell me.
*why, I oughtta.....*

Hi Athena Has the cable/internet problem been resolved for you?

Intermitently. Sometimes my connection is okay and sometimes it "times out" and only loads things 1/2 way - other times it just doesn't work. Quite frustrating. I'm taking it as a hint to spend less time online. lol

Worse than the internet woes is that there are rumors now that we are going to have a second coup! I guess the New Year's bombings have really stirred up some political you know what.

Darn A, keep your head down. I guess the good news is Thailand seems to have a history of bloodless coups. The bombings are a bit scarier though.Good thing you are not close to them.

Pete - such a shame you couldn't make it to the club in time - no chance of a late entry via the secretary? It would have been good to get the feedback from the judge.

That's what I'm in the process of doing, Mark. Looks as thought I can get them in tomorrow, but I hate to impose on people.

Great news on the lens, Crissa. The change in quality from your Tammy is astonishing, must be a whole new world for you!!

As far as I know.

One Shot - focus on something and the focus sticks until you refocus or shoot.
AI Servo - Goes to One Shot, but will swap to the other mode if the thing focused on moves.
The other mode (forgot what it's called), is for moving objects and will focus constantly as long as you press the focus button.

i'm probably wrong though. It's been a long time since anything I shot moved...

Pretty much all the time, yes... I change to the other if I'm taking shots of something moving (usually cars). I mostly entirely forget to change focus mode if I need to (like taking photos of my folks walking toward me, etc).

It does when I'm tracking cars, as I can see the focus stay locked on as the car is obviously coming toward me. But as I said, most of the time it's on the simple setting.
