So Athena, what have you been working on lately? Any new projects?

No new projects - but I did accept another photographer's challenge to photograph a shiny Christmas ball without the camera showing up in the reflection. :) Was a bit challenging! Then got challenged further to having what WAS reflected tell a story! Egads.

And on a pleasant person note, this morning I got an email from Scott Stulberg (external link) (pro photog) calling my work stunning! I am beside myself. Talk about motivation to get my butt back to work!

I resolved several years ago to NOT make New Years resolutions :) That way I don't break them, lol.

lol - I actually don't usually refer to my own as resolutions because those always fail to me. I call them challenges or goals. For whatever reason, I am better at successfully completing challenges and goals than resolutions.

I am terrible at goal-setting, lol. Challenges on the other hand, I'm always up for a challenge!

Thanks Cat. I have to admit I've been in a bit of a slump lately. More than a bit really. Just blah... Maybe I should "challenge myself" to put out some good work this year. I've actually been thinking of looking for a tour or workshop to attend to get myself motivated again.

Athena, I was looking at some pics posted by miniflash (Deb) a couple days ago, and she has a rose with some copper wire wrapped around it. Beautiful shots.
Anyway....
I thought it was a slinky at first.... and then I thought that YOU could do awesome things with a slinky. Have you ever thought about it?

Interesting coincidence... Not a slinky - but very close:

On New Years Eve we had our own fireworks and some pretty powerful party poppers. I took one of the poppers apart the next morning to see what the spring looks like because I wanted to keep it to photograph it. It's in my glovebox right now. ;)

That is a good resolution. You might add 'to keep out from under horses':p
