Crissa, these are great, perfect sky too for your beloved bridge. Glad you got good customer service and the lens you deserve.

I have "Cars" on DVD... Think I might see that while munching on my pizza.. TV is slack tonight.

I shot the "New Cars" in November...

These are pretty handy, aren't they? And are you always up at 1am? :)

Yup, and err, far more often than I should be!

Wait, I just got this. You're from the UK, and you took some shots of surfers? Geez, those are some hard core boardsmiths!

Newquay is the main surfing destination in the UK and is one of the top sites in Europe. Here's a link to the official tourist guide: <link> (external link)

short5 wrote in post #2500477 (external link)
I was just thinking that. My next thought is whats the surf like? I don't really think of surfing when I hear U.K

Pretty good. Not the big stuff, but I gather it's a pretty good break when the surf is up.

OK, now I'm happy.

So you should be Crissa. Those are awesome!

Pete wrote in post #2503190 (external link)
Submit those shots, guys...! Don't forget that this isn't a book by professional photographers, it's a book contains shots by the members of POTN, to be bought by members of POTN.

Don't get intimdated by it, contribute to it...!

Mike Bell wrote in post #2504281 (external link)
I agree!

It's our book, with our photos voted for by us. :D It's not a showcase of professional photography. You've all put shots up on POTN that people have raved about so you're bound to get some votes. What the heck if you don't make the cut for the book? ;)

Yeah ^^^^^^ What they said. There's room for a lot of shots in there and it's well worth entering! I've got a couple of shots I just want to make sure are as good as possible and I'll probably submit a few I think will be also rans, but see what the panel and members think.

Anyway - g'night for now ;)

Regardless of whose book it is, it's still intimidating. As is submitting anything for C&C in these forums. Which is why I've only done it once. I haven't scraped up enough courage to delve into that again.

I can't wait to see what everybody else submits, though. Y'all are some amazing photogs!

Intimidating, too.

Lynn, that's the beauty of these threads. The Photo Below Me, the Photo Pick and Share, etc. ...
we get to share our photos, and have them gently critiqued by friends. I love it. Just being with this group has encouraged me to branch out a few times to the main forum (though I am still a bit intimidated by the masses).

Share your photos here with us. You will get honest, friendly remarks, and learn to grow amidst much encouragement from friends.

I've been posting on TPBM and Photo Pick & Share, and I've had a ball with that. Not sure my skin is thick enough to go further yet. I post photos on my writing blog, but most of the people who read that are fellow writers.

I'm sure once I get more comfortable here I'll find my adventurous side. Thanks for the encouragement.

EDIT: :D Yeah, what Cat said ^^^^^^! (I didn't type fast enough, lol!)

I have learned so much from the threads Cat mentioned! Not only from the photo sharing, but the informal classrooms that pop up from time to time.
Of course, Cat didn't mention the downfall to this place......you will spend money  you won't be able to help yourself. Or is that just me?

Oh, believe me. I've been a sponge. I've been reading and studying and reading and studying, and even posting on occasion. I think my addiction is well underway.

I've already been feeling the money thing. That's why I've been staying away from certain websites. Not sure I'd be able to restrain myself. :)

I just watched that a few weeks ago. FANTASTIC movie. (The book was better)

I do have a teeny problem with Molly Ringwald *shudder*, but all the other actors for that movie were perfectly picked. Especially Rob Lowe and Gary Sinese.
