Well I drive everyplace too, no buses or trains anymore so that makes it easier too. Is the 30D that much heavier? My XT with the 50 is very light and manageable.

30D body is 784 g (27.7 oz)
XT body is 540 g (19 oz)

So a fair bit heavier, I'd say. The weight and feel of the 30D is right for me - makes me feel butch.

I have a bum shoulder, that's why I decided on the backpack, distribute the weight. The only time it bothered me was at Disney, I carried a ton of stuff every day including camera, batteries, P&S and video, lol.

I have a large bum, hence why I carry everything around in a backpack - it takes the strain.

I'd like the opportunity to find out what a 5D makes me.

It's a lovely camera - just enough, not a bit too much. ;) It does get heavy with some of the lenses though.

Pete - I'd be a bit concerned if it did that to my arm, but if it's going to do that to my hair I might have to give up photography!

Hi Cat :D I am in 'splash and dash' mode, lol. Mostly lurking whilst pretending to work :) Will be up for serious play time tonight tho!

As an unrelated aside: yesterday I was wanting to play with fresh cut flowers (thank you Becky and Deb for the inspiration). I discovered that on a Sunday, in a town with a pop. less than 5K that finding fresh cut flowers aint gonna happen  Irritating.
