Hi Cat,

Sorry, I've been a bit quiet recently - Lorinda (my wife) was given a game for the computer for Christmas by our son (well, he said he wanted to get if for her when he saw it in the shop - I had to buy it ;)). From being mostly uninterested in the computer, she has become almost obsessed with this game ;) :D so my time has been a little more limited (it's an adventure based around horses - which she loves - and includes challenges where she actually has to ride competition courses to progress). Also I've been out taking shots with Nifty that I am busy pp'ing now.

And everyone's been chatty, so I've been longer catching up... plus cleaning screens... ;)

That's why my hubby and I have separate computers. I don't share well.

It would be nice, although it hasn't really been needed up until now LOL.

I could probably talk myself into one from work if I had anywhere at home to put a second machine. I work from home enough to be able to persuade the boss. A laptop might be a possiblity if I could find one that would be good for pp work.

Hi Mark!
I have a similar problem with computer sharing, although it is my kids who seem to think they need it  Cory (my 17 yr old) plays guitar and just downloaded the free trial of Guitar Pro (a pretty cool program!) and spends every available moment playing with it!

LOL! The macro looks like fun, next on my list is the sigma 50-150 then I'm getting the 100 macro. (and the 50-150 is within reach in a few weeks I'm pretty sure, was hired to shoot a summer outdoor concert series so of course I need this lense)

That was a nice bonus

Cat what are the other specs? dual core? pentium? amd? what what??

Well, of course you need that lens! So cool that you can 'invest' in yourself that way :D

The bonus came to all of us upper management types. My company has Dell's on every desk (except the graphics team of course). So I am sure the administration got some kind of compensation for bonusing us through Dell. I am not complaining, tho. Dell is a bit high on gear, but it's not like I'm taking it out of my bank account :)

Nice subliminals Jamie.

Crissa, I have to admit, that I don't know too much about the technical words surrounding computers.
But I went to Dell, started wtih a good 'business' computer, and built from there, using the 'tell me more' on every option to make my decision. I'm pathetic.

I knew that I needed at least 2g RAM, and a larger HD than 40gs (which is what I have right now)

SO....this is what I ended up with, basically:

Intel Pentium D Processor 820 with Dual Core Technology(2.80GHz,800FSB)
4GB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz
250GB SATA II Hard Drive (7200RPM)
