I started an attempt to shoot the reflection of this painting across the room while hiding the mess in the living room. I got distracted cooking before I was happy with the attempt. Yours are very nice.

Leyla was wrapping and there were boxes and paper and packing everywhere so the Idea
was to frame the reflection of the brightly lit painting with a few boughs from the tree and underexpose the mess.

I've been distracted with cooking lately too. New years challenge is to eat more whole foods. Means no prepackaged stuff, means more time spent doing cooking prep.

The challenge went on from the reflection just needing to be clean to it's needing to tell a story.
This was my final entry:

Thanks for the welcome back Jack.

Cat, I will bring a bunch of our 6% beer along. You could just mix in some water if it is too strong for you. ;)

Thinking back several pages, for those who are interested, I've pp'd the shots I took of the surfers with 'Nifty'. So for those unaware that the UK had surf - or were wonderring what it was like, here's a couple of shots:

This was a fairly calm day for winter.

Newquay is the UK's top surfing destination (well, if you believe the Tourist Information Centre ;)) and hosts the RipCurl Board Masters - a five star, World Championship Tour event in August (The weather's a lot warmer then ;))

Thanks Pete, and I sure did put some cream on the old noggin' and have suffered but a wee bit o' skin loss, not even a real peeling. I did go to a tanning booth a few times before leaving to prime my lily white skin.

I am as well, nice shooting Mark!

Well I called Dell today and arranged to return my monitor for a new one. Every once in a while it gets stripes of color change going through it, very subtle but definitely noticeable. Its really funny, I am in no way one of those people who are always returning things and complaining about quality, before I found this forum I lived with a Sigma lens that needed to be calibrated for over a year assuming I sucked that much! I actually had no idea a lens could need calibrating. lol. Within the past two weeks I have returned a lens and a monitor, lol. But I figured I paid serious money for both and should get what I want.

Athena: Love the Christmas balls :D How did you keep yourself out of them?

Mark: I also had no idea there was a surfing crowd in the UK! Nice shots :)

Crissa: Good for you! I agree, when serious money is spent, the value needs to be there!

Cat: ROFL at your location  Nice avatar, too!

So, on the advice of a friend, I downloaded Firefox today :) After being booted out of IE for the FIFTH time this morning I decided I had had enough! So far so good, seems to scoot along quite a bit quicker and no troubles as of yet.
