I think you did a good job, but I doubt that you would have got tack sharp from the Tamron under those conditions either. The math says that would be 1/250 at f2.8 for the same exposure. That is still pretty slow for stop action sports shooting. 1/500 would be about the slowest for acceptable shots and about 1/1000 for good shots. Jack
